Daily Devotional by Wes McGarry

Today is known as Spy Wednesday as traditionally, this is the day that Judas plotted to betray Jesus. In Matthew 26:6-13 you can read the account of the woman who used expensive perfume to anoint Jesus. The disciples were angry with the woman as they considered it a waste to do this with something so valuable. In verse 14 of the same chapter you see Judas develop the plot to betray Jesus. As most of you know he betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Assuming the pieces are shekels (which is a reasonable assumption) Judas valued Jesus at 1/3 of what the unnamed woman valued him. So ask yourselves, church, how much do you value Jesus?
