Daily Devotional by Wes McGarry

In John chapter 16 Jesus described some events about this death that had not transpired yet. He tells them they will be banned from synagogues and will even be murdered if they choose to follow God. He then concludes in a very triumphant note in verse 33 of chapter 16 which says: I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.” [1] I echo Jesus’ command to take courage. The reason we can take courage is because Christ has conquered the world.
