Devotional by Wes McGarry

When was the last time you spoke highly of God to anyone? Sure, life may not be the greatest right now but there are still reasons to praise God! The Psalmist gives the reader several reasons to praise God in Psalm 145. Verse 3 explains that God is great. Verse 8 tells the reader that God is compassionate. Verse 9 states that God is good. This is a small sample of the reasons the church should be praising God. There is one that should be highlighted. Verses 5 and 6 read I will speak of your splendor and glorious majesty and your wondrous works.  They will proclaim the power of your awe-inspiring acts, and I will declare your greatness. The most glorious and wondrous work that God has ever done is the cross. The most powerful and awe inspiriting act of greatness is the cross. If for no other reason, the church should praise God the cross of Christ.
